I started Sauna Talk back in 2016. The spirit then, as it is now, is to get on the bench, one on one, and share with you some candid thinking and on the spot endorphin rushing with guests to the show.
100th podcast episode
For my 100th episode, I share some of my memorable moments from several different episodes. Actually, I could have pulled snippets from every episode!
Putting these episodes together has been a privilege. Sharing them with you continues to be a joy. Please check this one out, and feel free to go deeper into the 100 episode catalog here.
Go jump in the lake
Last month we got some great advice from Dr. Dodson about Swimmer’s Ear. And this month, I share how I help keep water from pushing into my ears. It’s called the Inverse Belly Flop Method. It works!, and you can read about it here.
Kit Sauna for $2,800
I can still get pretty snarky about shitty saunas, but I take a few Wim Hof breaths and share a different light about this electro heated kit sauna from Cosco. As we think about the context of where most North Americans lie along the consumer spectrum, most likely don’t care as much about good sauna as you and me. And maybe that’s ok!? Check out my perspective here.
The Triangle Trap
You know that wonderful wave of steam? Well, some builders may not be feeling what we feel. Or maybe they feel it, but the Instagram “wow” may mean more to them. Either way, I swing my towel aggressively against trapping steam up there in the triangle they’ve created. Read more here.
Doctors Who Sauna
Welcome to the Doctors who Sauna series, where I get to ask Doctors of different disciplines and backgrounds three questions about the health benefits of sauna. Let’s meet our three panelists, as we look into sauna health benefits through the lenses of their professional practices here.
Banya Fest
Are you close enough to Minneapolis for a sauna road trip? Come! October 5th. Banya Fest. Click here for my review of the stripped down version last year.
I totally dig the venik experience. And I totally dig the Steam Masters. Some are getting on airplanes and converging for this event (with their veniks stowed as carry on luggage). About a dozen saunas, and lots of Slavic food and roots and culture. I can’t wait! I hope to see you at Banya Fest! More here.
