Greetings thermally conditioned sauna fans!
Last month I shared a few words about gratitude. Just waking up, in our own beds without pain is a perfect moment to say a little prayer of thanks. And if there is pain, well, positive vibrations that it will pass. This month, we can reflect on a cousin of gratitude:
Enoughness
I was an account manager for the largest food company in the world for 20 years. We were tethered to growth numbers. Getting bigger was basically our only measure of success. Yet, when it comes to our own lives could a better measure be “enoughness?”
Enoughness is knowing yourself: an understanding of where you are at with what you already have.
Within our personal lives, we are free to set our own goals for what living well means. For me, sauna is my place where gratitude shines brightly and enoughness shines clearly. It’s nice to have aggressive goals and try to reach for the stars. Yet, as we chill between rounds, it’s nice to be able to pause, look up at the moon and ask yourself: “do I have enough in my life?”
Sauna Talk: Mikkel Aaland
This 3rd Sauna Talk episode with Mikkel catches him just days back from Ukraine after delivering Sauna Aid’s third sauna into Ukraine. A warmer news story of Ukraine in the news! Check out the episode here.
Sauna Interview: Daryl Lamppa
This month, I had the honor to visit with Daryl Lamppa, 3rd Generation sauna stove maker. This interview is not to be missed. I promise that you will learn something interesting about wood burning technology, as well as the history of this family and gem of an employer in the small US town of Tower, Minnesota. Here is thirteen minutes with the legend:
US Senator fires up a wood burning sauna stove
You may think I work for Lamppa Manufacturing, but I don’t! I happen to stumble upon Senator Amy Klobluchar visiting the factory and wrote about it here.
